Why Family Focus USA?
Because we don't accept that for any reason or under any circumstance any child born in the United States of America should be subjected to impoverished conditions as long as they are living on American soil! There are lots of answers to what it means to be an American and what is meant by the American way of life. But there is one common theme in all the answers. Regardless of where you have come from or how long you have been here, America is still the land of opportunity.
America is all about opportunity and EVERY child living in the United States of America should have the freedom to access the opportunity that our country, and our society has to offer.
Our nation is built upon the premise of a freedom and fairness. But so many of the Government programs and the Religious and Corporate responses to poverty available today are based on pure economics, which is, ultimately, about maintaining the status quo.
Poverty is not about money! The fact is that if we gave everyone that was alive in the world today exactly the same amount of money each, within twelve (12) months some would have more than others and some would have considerably less.
WHY? Because...
Poverty is about attitude, and the means by which a person can escape impoverished conditions can only be successfully achieved by changing the attitudes - past, present and future - that bind them to the patterns in which they live.
All children living in America should have a fair opportunity. An opportunity to access the infinite possibilities that our nation has to offer. But the fact is they don't - from birth many millions of American children are denied the hope of possibility and are destined to perpetuate a cycle of poverty for themselves, their children, and their children's children.
But the cycle of poverty can be broken. Americans are known throughout the world for their fairness to those in need. Our country spends billions in foreign aid, and private donations in helping poverty stricken people in other countries, even though we know it is the attitude of the Governments of those countries, the greed and corruption, that causes the ongoing poverty - we still give. Why? Because America is all about giving people an opportunity to do better.
"In the Land of the Free no child ought to be living in poverty."
